SEEDS OF STILLNESS
The Founder's Story of Tiliz's Stillness
Some people carry within them the seeds of giving from a very young age — not because life was easy, but because they understand the pain of others so deeply.
The founder of Tiliz's Stillness did not have a complete childhood. Emotional conflicts, silent wounds, and having to grow up too soon taught her one thing: compassion does not come from theory, but from lived experience.
When she grew up and lived abroad, she once happened to watch a documentary about highland children crossing streams to go to school, carrying their books in plastic bags. It awakened something she thought had long been dormant: the desire to return to Vietnam and do something meaningful.
In the early years after returning, she didn't think about business. She went to temples, taught Vietnamese to children, did volunteer work on weekends, and joined charity trips when Vietnam faced natural disasters and floods. There were trips to remote areas, sleeping in temples, facing harsh conditions — but never with regret.
Her personal life at that time was also turbulent. An incomplete marriage, differences in life choices, responsibilities to her children, and the feeling of having to carry everything alone… All of this made her yearn even more for a place quiet enough to breathe, still enough to be herself.
Not everyone has the opportunity to leave the city, but everyone deserves a place to return to — even if just for a few days — to recover.
It was during this period that she realized: Not everyone has the opportunity to leave the city, but everyone deserves a place to return to — even if just for a few days — to recover.
From this simple thought, the idea of a slow-living space, kind and deep enough, began to take shape. Not a luxurious resort. Not a homestay for "check-ins." But a place still enough for people to hear themselves again. And Tiliz's Stillness was planted from there.
